Dr Thaneeru is a General and Interventional Cardiologist. He has completed basic physician training in New Zealand and cardiology training at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand. Following this, he has undergone close to 2 years of advanced interventional cardiology training, including structural heart disease at Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand. During this period, he has gained extensive experience in coronary artery imaging, including IVUS and complex coronary artery intervention by radial access. He has completed level two training in cardiovascular computed tomography.

Dr Thaneeru has worked as a consultant Interventional Cardiologist in secondary and tertiary care hospitals in Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Thaneeru has a strong academic background and has been involved in cardiology teaching to medical students, medical registrars, and cardiology trainees. He is currently a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland. He has published and presented number of cardiology research projects in coronary and structural heart intervention at national and international cardiology conferences.
