Dr James O'Sullivan has been in Private Orthopaedic Practice in Lambton NSW for over 20 years. He specialises in disorders of the foot and ankle with a keen interest in management of the diabetic foot, treatment of bone and joint deformity, arthritis, trauma and ankle replacement surgery.

Dr O'Sullivan graduated from Sydney University in 1989 and completed his basic medical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. He completed his orthopaedic training through Royal Newcastle Hospital in 1997. Dr O'Sullivan along with his family, travelled to Dublin, Ireland where he completed Fellowships in Paediatric Orthopaedics as well as Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle surgery.

Currently Dr O'Sullivan is expanding the indications for minimally invasive surgery of the forefoot. Enjoying teaching, he has been involved in orthopaedic education with medical students, hospital registrars and fellows from overseas.

Dr O'Sullivan has been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon on call for trauma at John Hunter Hospital for 10 years until 2008. He now consults and operates in both the public and private sector in Newcastle.

He consults and operates privately in Maitland on a monthly basis. Traveling to conferences nationally and internationally, he participates in continuing surgical education through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Dr O'Sullivan has joined the team at Forster Private Hospital and is available for consultation in the Dolphin Suites and surgery.
