Dr Janse Van Rensburg completed his medical and ophthalmic training at Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 2015. He also became a board certified ophthalmologist in Canada and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

He worked as a general ophthalmologist before sub-specialising in the field of retina and vitreoretinal surgery at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.

During his 2 year vitreoretinal fellowship he was exposed to the latest techniques and expertise by leading specialists in this field and brings this expertise to the Forster/Tuncurry area.
