Dr Arshad Khan is a General and Interventional Cardiologist with special interest in the management of heart failure, hypertension, primary and secondary prevention of coronary artery disease, arrhythmias and perioperative cardiovascular assessment.
Dr Khan trained at John Hunter Hospital Newcastle Australia and Johns Hopkins University Hospital Baltimore USA (3rd best hospital in USA – USNews 2018).
Dr Khan performs and reports cardiac investigations including:
- Transthoracic and stress echocardiography - Bulk Billed
- Holter Monitors - Bulk Billed
- Exercise stress test - Bulk Billed
- Coronary angiography
- Percutaneous coronary intervention and stenting
Dr Khan joins the Healthe Heart team with Dr Bellemy and Dr Dhawan, consulting at Mayo Private Hospital (Taree) Forster Private Hospital (Forster), and Lingard Private Hospital (Newcastle). Healthe Heart Cardiac Services provides the Mid North Coast community with direct access to our service and cardiac specialists - with bulk billing available on a range of investigations such as Transthoracic and Stress Echo and Holter Monitors.
Dr Khan aims to provide a high level of care and service for his patients and will be happy to see urgent patients promptly.
Dr Khan is a keen researcher with a strong belief in the role of research for the advancement of cardiovascular medicine.
His research interests include left ventricular remodelling, management of coronary artery disease and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and cancer treatment related cardiomyopathy - Arshad_Khan49 Research.
He has local and international research collaborations at John Hunter Hospital, Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital, University of Newcastle, Hunter medical research institute, Tsinghua University Beijing, China and Johns Hopkins University Hospital Baltimore USA.
